7th Heaven for hurlers and ladies

Published on: 07-Jul-2010

Tonight in St. Davids the Intermediate hurlers faced a stiff test in the shape of St Finians Swords. The match pitted second vs third and Parnells were under some pressure after their 1st defeat in their last match. The pressure sat well on the young 'Nells shoulders as they raced into a nine point lead at the break aided by the breeze. 1-09 to 0-03. The second half was a more even tussle in terms of possession and territory but Parnells showed the killer instinct scoring 4-02 to their opponents 2-04. Parnells 5-11 to St. Finians 2-07 with Colly Mac scoring 2-09 for the Nells. Other strong performers were Aaron Jameson, Jay Barr, Paddy Forrester and Diarmuid McSweeney. If the team can continue in this vain promotion to AHL 3 will be achieved!!!

In Chanel the Ladies showed the strength of their panel when defeating Naomh Mearnog in the Cup without a number of key players. Tonight Sinead Cumiskey was the scorer in chief but she was aided by 7 other scorers. The ladies are preparing well for their Championship semi final on August 4th vs St Margarets.
