Parnell's GAA Club - Healthy Eating Programme


Parnell's GAA Club has been running a very successful after school GAA sports programme called PAL (Play And Learn). The PAL programme which was attended by over 70 children over an 8 week period in two local centres -St. Davids CBS and Coláiste Dhúlaigh introduced the children who attended to GAA sports, a homework club and encouraged a healthy eating policy.


Last Monday (26th) was the last session of the PAL programme where Parnell's GAA club teamed up with local Hotel, Hilton Dublin Airport to encourage and educate local children and their parents on Healthy eating.


'The children and their parents had a great time,' said Declan Power Parnell's GAA Club Juvenile Development Manager.


The Hilton Dublin Airport Chef, Brian Sheridan showed everyone how to make some healthy snacks including fruit smoothys while Maura Lawlor from the Northside Partnership educated the children on the 'Food Pyramid.' '

The children got an opportunity to make and eat the food while exchanging their hurling helmets for chef hats!' said Declan.


The General Manager of the Hilton Hotel, Paul Flavin said, 'The Hilton Dublin Airport is delighted to be associated with Parnell's GAA club and to support the PAL initiative as a community based project.'
