Then on Sunday Junior championship took centre stage in Chanel. The morning game saw Jimmy McGranes charges take on Raheny in the Junior A Championship. This team won the Junior B Championship last season and were making a huge step up in this match against more fancied opponents. The large crowd that gathered for the game were treated to an excellent game of football and there was only a point between the teams at the break. Parenlls leading 0-05 t0 Raheny 0-04. Parnells took control in the opening exchanges of the second half and found themselves 5 points up with 15 minutes to play. Raheny however found an extra gear and got themselves level with injury time approaching. The 'Nells had one last chance to win the game from a difficult free but they could not manage to split the posts. 20 minutes extra time was needed and none of the supporters were leaving!! Parnells re grouped before the extra periods and showed more control when going ahead this time round to sneak over the line. Final score Parnells 0-16 Raheny 0-12 (aet). Best for the 'Nells Paraic O'Neill, Marius McGarrell and Ger Ryan.

Parnells now face a mouth watering away trip to near neighbours Craobh Chiarain in the next round this Sunday 25th at 11am in Cloushaugh....all support needed.

Sunday afternoon was the stage for our Junior 2 side to commence their Junior C Championship against St. Marks. The team had a real mix of youth and experience and this seemed to be the perfect blend as they cut through their opponents. The platform was created by the midfield duo of Ger Power and Ger Brady and the main beneficary was full forward Pearse O'Hanlon who blasted in 3 goals. St. Marks offered little in the 1st half but the 'Nells stuck to their guns and made their opportunities count. Parnells were afforded the luxury of using their bench in the second period and they chipped over some more excellent scores. The team goes through comfortably to the second round this Sunday afternoon. JFC C R.2 Grangegorman St Brendans vs Parnells 3pm.

Our Junior 3 sides match with St. Peregrines was postponed as the ref failed to show. It is refixed for this Sunday 25th in Blakestown at 3pm.
