An Cumann Parnell C.L.G. - About Us

Our History

Parnell's was formed in 1893 and is one of the most famous Dublin clubs and has won the Senior Dublin and Leinster Football Championships during it's proud history.

Parnell's continue to enjoy increased growth and success in fielding teams in Football, Hurling, Ladies Football and Pool.

This growth is sure to increase with the news in 2010 that the club has received Full Planning Permission for the redevelopment of Chanel college. In November 2010 then Taoiseach Brian Cowan attended the club to officially turn the first sod on the new development.

The new €22 million club development will boast the most modern sports and social facilities that any GAA club has seen in the country. The facilities will not alone benefit the club in its endeavours to promote, develop and be successful in Gaelic Games but also the greater D5/17 communities of Coolock, Artane, Kilmore and Clonshaugh.

The new development due for completion in January 2012 will include the following facilities:
- Three floodlit playing pitches: made up of two all weather pitches and one full sized sand-based grass pitch
- A hurling, football and handball wall
- A fully equipped gym with a sports therapy centre and changing rooms
- A new modern Clubhouse which will include a reception area, a bar/lounge, games room and large function room
- Meeting rooms
- 150+ car parking spaces

The club has a state-of-the-art floodlit 100m by 60m playing pitch in St David's CBS, Artane. This facility has been a huge addition for the club and is the main training ground for all teams. The club also run a fully-equipped Gym in St. Davids which opens Monday to Friday 6.30pm to 9.30pm all members are welcome to use the gym under the supervision of the professional exercise team of Kevin or Seasca.

Parnell's have developed many Dublin players over the years and it's proud to have the current Dublin Goal Keeper and 3 time All-Star Stephen Cluxton along with Dublin ladies 2010 All Ireland winners Niamh McEvoy, Lindsey Peat and Avril Cluxton as key members of the club. A key part of the success of the club is the involvement of parents, past/current players or indeed Gaa enthusiasts who are living or working in the Coolock and Artane areas.

We are actively looking to expand the club and wish to invite any player or parent who is interested in coaching or playing for the club to contact us on the numbers below.
